                                                  RESOLVING TEAM CONFLICT

Change imposed is

change opposed

Conflict is inevitable, yet there are ways to disagree and without being disagreeable. On the other side of a breakdown is a breakthrough. Most teams get stuck in the breakdown because they don’t know how to talk about their common problems.  By raising the level of trust and understanding the different perspectives on an issue can be put on the table. When people find a way to talk about the problems they find solutions that will work for everyone.

SKILLED FACILITATION

Every organization has challenges it must deal with.  Too often the internal resources that could answer these challenges are focused on assigning blame instead of finding solutions. There is a natural tendency to the see the world in terms of “we” versus “they.”  The people with the answers are those closest to the problem. Both sides have a piece of the puzzle. With skilled facilitation the different sides will find that all the pieces fit together into a coherent whole. This new perspective can help move the organization to the next level of achievement.

                                                 FRAMEWORK FOR RESOLUTION

Resolving conflict takes time. Personal interviews are conducted to collect data and foster understanding.  A proven approach is a two-day off-site. During the off-site the issues are mediated by skilled facilitators. The conflict resolution methods help the group or team find a mutually agreeable decision based on shared interests and mutual understanding instead stated positions.
