STRATEGIC BUSINESS PLANNING

If you don’t know where
you are going any road will
get you there

Today’s business environment demands clear thinking and sound

decisions.  A company’s business model, processes, staffing, culture

and  organizational structure must be in alignment with each other.

Through skilled facilitation we  can help your leadership team meet

the challenge, make the decisions and  develop the plans that will

get the results you need. Using a variety of  planning processes

such real-time strategic change or open space we can  help your

organization realize a high level of participation and support and

      achieve fundamental change.

Just about every organization  is finding itself adjusting to a  rapidly changing
                                    environment.

Responding to the vital questions of how we will conduct our business and measure our success is an urgent challenge. The previous business models for providing products and services have to evolve to meet the new needs and demands of sophisticated clients and partners.  Increasingly, an organization is challenged to find new ways of conducting its mission that focuses systemically on an entire system both within and between departments.

Team Building Associates offers a systematic planning process for management teams that can lead to a clear and compelling vision and a strategic plan to achieve it.

This strategic planning process is tailored to the unique requirements of the client. Our facilitators draw up their extensive experience to select and modify the strategic planning models, exercises and approaches that best fit the needs of the organization they are supporting. They help the management and staff gain clarity on their collective mission and generate the level of commitment and ownership required to effectively pursue it.

The following steps are typical of this strategic planning process:

1)    Assessment: Develop the initial inventory of the key issues, challenges, obstacles and opportunities facing the organization through online surveys and interviews.

2)    Design the planning process: Define the series of steps and meetings and methodologies that will provide inputs into the planning process. Normally this would include setting up a special planning team within the organization.

3)    Facilitate the planning process: Conduct off sites for the leadership team and/or the entire department to get the entire system in the room and gain a 360 perspective on the relevant issues facing the organization.

4)    Consolidate the information gained and the conclusions reached into one clear and compelling plan that has the ownership and buy-in of the organization.

Challenges like mergers and acquisitions, revitalizing the corporate culture, introducing

new technology, downsizing or other responses to changes in the competitive environment

can seem overwhelming. A lot has to happen in a short period of time. Large amounts of

information have to be gathered, organized and turned into knowledge that will drive the

decision-making process. Difficult trade-offs have to be considered. Vision and values

need to be weighted. Strong emotions or deeply held beliefs may impact the discussions.

We offer an innovative yet well-coordinated  strategic planning approach, that can make
the difference in achieving a successful outcome
